DEVELOPMENT

A FAMILY THAT GROWS TOGETHER

One of the objectives I  had when beginning the company-in addition to ensuring that these epic stories were kept alive and vivid in the hearts and minds of the new public-was to create a marriage between the technical and artistic industries. I have been blessed to meet and work with some of the most talented Cinematographers in New York City, and I am always thrilled to find that they too love the classics.

When studying classical literature and Theater, I have encountered some resistance when I've referenced the adaptation of classical work to a film medium. I found that strange, considering the adaptations of inspirational directors such as Luhrmann, Brannagh, and even recently Whedon. Additionally, many of the talented Directors, Cinematographers, set designers and wardrobe designers I've met on set have voiced a yearning to be a part of a classical project. I see Classics for the New Public as a collaborative effort of the entirety of the film Industry to bring the thrill of these epic stories back to todays Public.

With that said, we are always looking for new talent. If you are interested in working with us, please email classicsnewpublic@gmail.com, with your resume and the corresponding footage attached to your position.

  • Cinematographers: Please send your reel and Vimeo/YouTube link, as well as a list of any equipment you have if applicable.

  • Editors: Please send a video reel of your work, and your Vimeo/YouTube page if you have one.

  • Sound Operators: Please send a a video reel if you have one, as well as a list of the equipment you have, if any.

  • Wardrobe/Costume Designers: Please send photos of your work and a reel of where your pieces have been shown, if you have one. (A taped Theatrical Production in which your pieces were used will suffice).

  • Gaffers: At the moment we are looking for lighting designers that work in film, television and New Media only. Please send clips that showcase your work.

  • Actors: Please submit your reel if you have one, and a taped audition. Please choose a classical play of your choice, and a scene or monolgue from that piece. We ask that it is lit well, and we can hear the dialogue. Be advised that this IS film, not Theater, so adjust your energy accordingly.

Location scouts, or those willing to let us use their location: Please submit photos of your place and what piece you believe will go well there, and perhaps we can collaborate!

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN USING ANY OF OUR CAST AND/OR CREW:

You can find their bio and a link to their professional work on the 'Company Members' Page. If you do not find their information there, send an email to classicsnewpublic@gmail.com.

Thank you in advance, I look forward to hearing from you.
